SE Ranking Review 2026: The AI Add-On Covers One Engine Fewer Than the Plan It Sits On
SE Ranking's plans list five LLMs. The AI Search add-on that costs 72% more names four, and Gemini is the one missing. Prices verified 7 August 2026.
SE Ranking is an SEO suite that put AI visibility inside the base plan, and then put a second AI visibility product on top of it at 72% of the plan’s own price. The base plan says it tracks five LLMs. The add-on’s block, on the same page, names four platforms twice, and Gemini is not one of them.
That is the whole review in two sentences, and it is a buying decision rather than a quibble, because the add-on is the part sold as the strategic layer.
Disclosure: EchoWi competes with SE Ranking. Every price, prompt limit, engine name and trial term below was read from SE Ranking’s own pricing page and its AI Visibility Tracker page on 7 August 2026. The pricing page geolocates: it was read from Spain and served euros, and it carries no currency switcher, so the figures here are the euro ones we were shown.
The short version
- From €87.20 a month billed annually, €109.00 month to month, and AI tracking is inside that price.
- 100 AI prompts a day on the entry plan, which is a different unit from the monthly prompt counts the rest of this market quotes.
- Five LLMs on both published plans, with a Gemini tracker among the five.
- The AI Search add-on costs a further €63.20 a month and its own block names four platforms, not five.
- Nobody adds the two together on the page. €150.40 a month is the real number for the full AI setup.
What it costs, verified
| Plan | Annual | Monthly | AI prompts, daily | LLMs | AI competitive research |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Core | €87.20/mo | €109.00/mo | 100 | 5 | 5 domains, unlimited reports |
| Growth | €188.00/mo | €235.00/mo | 250 | 5 | 15 domains, unlimited reports |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Not published | Not published | Not published |
Add-ons, each priced separately and each on top of a plan:
| Add-on | Annual | Monthly | What the block says it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI Search | +€63.20/mo | €79.00/mo | “AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity, ChatGPT” |
| Agency Pack | +€59.00/mo | Not shown | White-label reporting and client-facing tools |
| API | +€39.00/mo | Annual billing only | 3M credits at the lowest tier |
There is also a standalone API plan from €155.00 a month, which the page describes as “Programmatic access to real-time SEO & GEO data”.
The trial is stated precisely, which is more than most of this market manages: “The free 14-day trial is fully functional and includes starter usage: up to 10 projects, 750 tracked keywords per day, 20 AI prompts per day, and AI competitive research for up to 3 domains (with unlimited reports).”
The engine count that changes between two blocks on one page
The plan comparison table has a row labelled LLMs to track, with the value 5 for Core and 5 for Growth. Its tooltip reads: “Number of AI platforms/LLMs you can track (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity).”
The site’s own navigation lists five trackers by name: AI Overviews Tracker, AI Mode Tracker, ChatGPT Tracker, Gemini Tracker, Perplexity Tracker. Each has its own page. The product page for the AI Search Toolkit names all five in prose, twice.
Now read the AI Search add-on block, further down the same pricing page:
- “AI Results Tracker: AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity, ChatGPT”
- “Unlimited competitor research across AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity, and ChatGPT”
Four, listed twice, with Gemini absent both times.
We are not claiming the add-on cannot see Gemini. We are reporting that the block selling it names four platforms where the plan beneath it claims five, and that the vendor’s own Gemini tracker page states no plan and no price, so a buyer cannot resolve the question from the site. If you need Gemini inside the paid strategic dashboard, ask before you pay, and get the answer in writing.
The arithmetic nobody does on this page
Add the two rows. The plan and the add-on are priced in separate blocks, and the page never sums them.
€87.20 for Core plus €63.20 for AI Search is €150.40 a month, at annual billing on both. The add-on is 72% of the plan it sits on: 63.20 divided by 87.20 is 0.72.
That number matters because of what it is compared to. Our verified catalogue has entry plans that track AI visibility at €29 (ours), $29 (Promptmonitor), €39 (Surfeo), $39 (Rank Prompt) and €79 (Nightwatch). The SE Ranking add-on alone costs more than any of those whole products.
The counter-argument is real and worth stating: none of those five is an SEO suite. You are not buying the same thing.
Now the unit. The comparison row is “Prompts, daily”, and the tooltip says “Daily AI prompts available for GEO tracking and research.” So Core’s 100 is a daily figure. At thirty days that is 3,000 prompt checks a month, against Nightwatch’s 50 prompts a month on its €79 entry plan and Promptmonitor’s 25.
And the add-on’s tiers are not daily, or are not said to be. Its four tiers read “200 prompts”, “200 prompts”, “450 prompts”, “1000 prompts”, with no period attached anywhere in the block. If those are monthly, the €63.20 add-on buys fewer prompts than the plan it sits on already includes. If they are daily, it buys twice as many. The page does not say, and that is a strange thing to leave ambiguous on the line item that carries the higher margin.
What the AI answers actually cite
Here is the part we can measure rather than read.
On 7 August 2026 we asked Google’s AI Overview “what is the best tool to track my brand’s visibility in ChatGPT?”, in the United States in English, three times, with country and language set explicitly and the cache bypassed. Seventeen domains were cited across the three runs. Eight appeared in all three, and seranking.com was one of them. SE Ranking was named in every run, first mention averaging character 158, which is inside the opening lines.
In France on the same day, two separate sessions of the equivalent French question produced almost no overlap with each other. The single domain stable in both French sessions was seranking.com.
So across two markets and two languages, this vendor is one of the most reliably retrieved sources in its own category. That is a genuinely strong position and it is worth saying plainly in a review that spends the rest of its length on a pricing contradiction.
Two warnings attached to it. Being cited is not evidence the product is good; it is evidence the pages rank and read well for the question. And these are three runs and two small sessions on one surface, which separates stable from occasional and nothing more.
The thing the same measurement says about this whole market
Of those eight domains cited in every US run, we checked what each brand name is worth in Google search in the United States, with clickstream disaggregation on, on the same day.
| Cited in all 3 runs | US monthly searches for the brand |
|---|---|
wpengine.com | 13,169 |
seranking.com | 7,604 |
alhena.ai | 720 |
dageno.ai | no measurable volume |
promptrush.ai | no measurable volume |
mybrandi.ai | no measurable volume |
youtube.com, reddit.com | platforms, not vendors in this category |
Three of the eight sources the answer used every single time have no measurable search demand for their own name. Meanwhile brandlight.ai, which does have demand at 720 a month with transactional intent and a $13.84 cost per click, appeared in one run of three.
Search volume and citation frequency are measuring different things, and this table is the cleanest illustration of it we have produced. It is also why a review of a tool nobody searches for can still be worth writing, and why a keyword planner is the wrong instrument for deciding what an assistant will recommend.
Where SE Ranking is the right call
- You already do SEO and want GEO in the same account. Rank tracking, audits, backlinks and AI prompts on one bill, one login and one client report is a real operational saving.
- You need prompt volume rather than depth. 100 a day on the entry plan is a lot of tracked questions for the money, and this market usually sells you fifty a month at that price.
- You want Gemini covered on the base plan. Five LLMs at the entry tier is more than most, and several competitors put the fifth engine behind Enterprise.
- You want to try it properly first. The trial states its own limits in numbers, so you can tell in advance whether fourteen days will answer your question.
Where it is the wrong call
- You only want AI visibility. You would be buying a full SEO suite to get it, and the entry price reflects the suite.
- You need the strategic dashboard and you need Gemini in it. The add-on’s own block does not name Gemini, and no page on the site resolves that.
- You are price-sensitive per engine. At €150.40 with the add-on, this is the expensive end of our catalogue for AI coverage specifically.
- You need a dollar price to sign off. The page geolocates and gave us euros with no way to switch, so a US buyer and a Spanish buyer are not necessarily reading the same number.
What we could not verify
- Whether “100 prompts daily” means 100 prompts refreshed each day or 100 new prompts each day. The row and the tooltip both say daily; neither disambiguates, and the difference is a factor of thirty in what you can track.
- What period the add-on’s prompt tiers cover. “200 prompts” appears with no unit of time.
- Whether the AI Search add-on tracks Gemini. Four platforms named twice in its block, five in the plan above it, a Gemini tracker in the navigation, and no price or plan named on the Gemini page itself.
- Any price in dollars. The page served euros from our location and offered no currency switcher, so we did not convert: a converted figure is a number nobody was quoted.
- What Enterprise costs, or includes. “Flexible terms” and a demo request.
- Whether any of this changes tomorrow. Prices here carry the date they were read, which is the only honest way to publish them.
SE Ranking versus the alternatives
| Tool | Entry price | Billing | Engines at entry |
|---|---|---|---|
| SE Ranking | €87.20 | annual | 5 |
| Nightwatch | €79 | monthly | 4 |
| Surfer | €99 | annual | 1 |
| Semrush | $99 | annual | 4 |
| Writesonic | $79 | annual | 3 |
| Promptmonitor | $29 | monthly | 6 |
The full verified table, with every price carrying the date it was read, is in our comparison of GEO tools.
The shape SE Ranking fits is the one Surfer and Semrush also fit: an established SEO product that added AI tracking. The difference is that SE Ranking put a usable amount of it in the base plan rather than behind a separate product, and then also built the separate product.
Common Questions About SE Ranking
How much does SE Ranking cost?
Core is €87.20 a month billed annually or €109.00 month to month. Growth is €188.00 annually or €235.00 monthly. Enterprise is custom. Those figures were read from SE Ranking’s pricing page on 7 August 2026 from Spain; the page geolocates and shows no currency switcher, so a buyer elsewhere may be quoted differently.
Does SE Ranking include AI visibility tracking in its plans?
Yes. The Core plan’s own comparison row lists 100 daily AI prompts, 5 LLMs to track, unlimited AI sources tracking and AI competitive research on 5 domains. That is unusual: much of this market sells AI tracking as a separate line item. SE Ranking then also sells one, called AI Search, at a further €63.20 a month billed annually.
Which AI engines does SE Ranking track?
The plan comparison says five LLMs, and the site publishes five trackers by name: AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. The AI Search add-on block on the pricing page names four, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity and ChatGPT, and does not name Gemini. If Gemini matters to you, confirm it in writing before buying the add-on.
How many AI prompts do you get?
100 a day on Core and 250 a day on Growth, per the pricing table’s own “Prompts, daily” row. The AI Search add-on lists tiers of 200, 200, 450 and 1000 prompts with no period stated, so we cannot tell you whether the add-on increases or decreases your prompt allowance.
Is SE Ranking good value for AI visibility?
If you want an SEO suite with GEO inside it, the entry plan gives more tracked prompts per euro than anything else in our verified catalogue. If you only want AI visibility, several dedicated tools cost less than SE Ranking’s add-on alone. The question to answer first is whether you are buying one product or two.
Does AI actually recommend SE Ranking?
In our own measurement, yes, and more reliably than most. seranking.com was cited in all three runs of a US buying question on Google AI Overview on 7 August 2026, and was the only domain stable across two separate French sessions of the equivalent question the same day. That says its pages get retrieved for this category. It says nothing about whether the product suits you, and how much AI answers vary between identical runs is worth reading before you treat any single citation as a verdict.
