Ahrefs Brand Radar Review 2026: The Real Price

Brand Radar is an add-on, not a plan. It is also the only tool here measuring Reddit, YouTube and TikTok, where our own runs found the citations.

· Updated · 12 min read

Brand Radar is Ahrefs’ AI visibility product, and it measures something no other tool in this comparison does: Reddit, YouTube and TikTok alongside the AI engines. That matters more than it sounds, because when we asked Google’s AI which GEO tool to use, Reddit and YouTube were cited in every single run and every funded vendor was cited in none.

It is also not a plan. It is an add-on on top of an Ahrefs subscription, and the number most reviews quote is not the number you will pay.

Disclosure: EchoWi competes with Ahrefs on AI visibility. Prices and platform lists below were read from Ahrefs’ own pages on 6 August 2026.

The short version

  1. It is an add-on, so the real monthly cost is an Ahrefs plan plus Brand Radar, starting around €298.
  2. It covers Reddit, YouTube and TikTok. Almost nothing else in this comparison does.
  3. It is observational at scale, reporting hundreds of millions of prompts rather than only running yours.
  4. The custom-prompt allowance is the specification to read, at 2,500 checks a month on the top tier.
  5. The displayed price changes with your region, so quote it in your own currency before budgeting.

What it actually costs

Brand Radar has two layers, and conflating them is how reviews get the price wrong.

A basic Brand Radar is included with Ahrefs’ Lite, Standard and Advanced plans, covering web visibility.

Brand Radar AI, the part that tracks AI answers, is a separate add-on that Ahrefs lists from €179 a month, with an all-platforms tier shown at £560 a month on the product page.

So the real arithmetic is a base plan plus the add-on:

Ahrefs planPlan priceWith Brand Radar AI
Starter€27€206
Lite€119€298
Standard€229€408
Advanced€419€598

Read from Ahrefs’ pricing page and the Brand Radar product page on 6 August 2026.

Put that beside the rest of the market and the position is clear. Rankscale is €20 for ten engines, Otterly is $29, Profound and Semrush are both $99. Brand Radar’s realistic entry is somewhere between €206 and €408 depending on which Ahrefs plan you need for everything else.

A note on currency, because it caught us. Ahrefs’ pricing page returned euros and its Brand Radar page returned pounds in the same session. Displayed pricing appears to follow your region, so the figure in any review, including this one, may not be the figure you see. Check it in your own currency before you build a business case on it.

The finding that makes this product interesting

Here is our own measurement, and it is the reason we would take Brand Radar seriously despite the price.

We asked Google’s AI Overview, six times, in the United States and in English, which tool is best for tracking brand visibility in ChatGPT. Fifteen domains were cited. Reddit and YouTube appeared in every run. Profound, AirOps, Scrunch, Peec AI, Evertune and Semrush appeared in none of them: not one funded vendor in the category.

Now read the platform list again. Brand Radar covers AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini and Grok, plus Reddit, YouTube and TikTok.

No other tool in this comparison measures the surfaces that actually won. They all measure the AI answer and stop, which means they can tell you that you were not mentioned and cannot tell you that a Reddit thread was mentioned instead.

That is a genuine gap in the category and Ahrefs is the only vendor addressing it, which is unsurprising: they have spent a decade indexing the web and Reddit and YouTube are just more web to them.

Where we would push back: knowing a Reddit thread outranked you does not tell you what to do about it. Reddit is famously hostile to marketing, brigading a subreddit is a fast route to a ban, and the honest path is participating usefully over months. The tool surfaces the problem cleanly and the solution is still slow and human.

Observational data versus running your prompts

This is the structural difference between Brand Radar and almost everything else here, and it decides whether it fits you.

Most tools in this comparison run your prompts. You supply the questions, the tool asks them repeatedly, and the answer is about you.

Brand Radar leads with a corpus. Ahrefs reports 476 million or more monthly prompts across the platforms it tracks, with per-platform breakdowns: 325 million AI Overviews, 31.2 million ChatGPT, 31.3 million Gemini, 30.8 million Copilot, 29.7 million Perplexity, 21.1 million AI Mode and 7.4 million Grok. Its pricing page separately describes tracking 271 million or more organic prompts from the Ahrefs database alongside your own custom prompts.

Why the two shapes answer different questions. Running your prompts tells you how you perform on questions you chose. A corpus tells you which questions exist, including the ones you would never have thought to ask. That is the same advantage Profound’s Conversation Explorer and Evertune’s behavioural panel are reaching for, and Ahrefs arrives with far more scale than either.

The specification that limits it: the all-platforms tier includes 2,500 checks a month for custom prompts. Spread across ten platforms that is 250 prompt-platform combinations a month, or roughly eight a day. If your plan was to track 50 prompts daily across every engine, this is not the product for that, and Rankscale’s credit model is a better fit.

We could not verify how the corpus is assembled. Ahrefs does not publish, on the pages we read, whether those hundreds of millions of prompts come from clickstream panels, its own crawling, or a partnership. That is the single question we would ask on a call, because it determines what the numbers represent.

Two figures that do not match, handled fairly

The product page states 476 million or more total monthly prompts. The pricing page states 271 million or more organic prompts.

These are probably different things, and the wording supports that: “total monthly prompts” across all tracked surfaces is a larger scope than “organic prompts from Ahrefs database.” One likely includes surfaces or categories the other excludes.

We are reporting both with their sources rather than picking the bigger one, because a review that quietly quotes the flattering figure is doing the vendor’s marketing. If you need the number to hold up in a board deck, ask Ahrefs which measures what.

This is the same discipline we applied to Rankscale’s “17+ engines” against ten named on its pricing page, and it is a different situation from Brandlight’s “#1 AEO platform globally”, where the claim had no stated basis at all. A vendor using two scopes on two pages is untidy. A vendor asserting a ranking nobody made is something else.

Where Brand Radar is the right call

  • You already pay for Ahrefs. The add-on is then genuinely incremental and your existing data sits beside it.
  • Reddit, YouTube or TikTok matter in your category. Nothing else here measures them, and our own runs suggest they matter more than the market assumes.
  • You want to discover prompts, not just score them. A corpus of hundreds of millions of prompts is a research asset a prompt tracker cannot replicate.
  • Your SEO and AI reporting should live together. One vendor, one login, one export.

Where it is the wrong call

  • You do not use Ahrefs. Paying for a full SEO suite to reach an AI add-on is an expensive route to a mention rate.
  • You track many prompts daily. 2,500 checks a month across ten platforms is roughly eight prompts a day.
  • Your market is China. No Doubao or Qwen, the gap we built for.
  • You need attribution against a control. Proving a change moved a number is a different job from observing the market.
  • Budget is the constraint. €206 at the very cheapest, against €20 to €99 for most of this comparison.

What we could not verify

  • How the prompt corpus is collected. Not stated on the pages we read, and it is the question that determines what the figures mean.
  • The exact tier structure. “Select platforms” and “all platforms” are named without a full published breakdown of which platforms sit in each.
  • Whether pricing differs by region beyond currency. We saw euros and pounds in one session and cannot say whether the amounts are equivalent.
  • How many runs sit behind a reported number. Not documented, the same gap almost every vendor here has. Evertune states its sampling and we did the arithmetic on what that buys.

Common Questions About Ahrefs Brand Radar

How much does Ahrefs Brand Radar cost?

Brand Radar AI is an add-on listed from €179 a month, with an all-platforms tier shown at £560. Because it sits on top of an Ahrefs subscription, the realistic total runs from about €206 a month on Starter to €598 on Advanced. Displayed currency follows your region.

Is Brand Radar included with an Ahrefs plan?

A basic Brand Radar covering web visibility is included with Lite, Standard and Advanced. The AI tracking is the separate paid add-on.

Which platforms does Brand Radar track?

Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Grok, plus YouTube, TikTok and Reddit. It does not cover Doubao or Qwen.

Why does Reddit coverage matter for AI visibility?

Because AI answers cite it. In our own six-run measurement on Google’s AI Overview, Reddit and YouTube were cited every single time, while no funded GEO vendor was cited once. A tool that measures only AI answers can tell you that you were absent but not that a Reddit thread took the place you wanted. We measured which questions actually pull Reddit into a Google AI answer: it is cited in every small-business cell we ran and none of the enterprise ones, and the phrasing of the question does not predict it.

How many prompts can I track with Brand Radar?

The all-platforms tier includes 2,500 custom prompt checks a month. Across ten platforms that is about 250 prompt-platform pairs a month, so it suits a focused prompt set rather than daily tracking at volume.

Is Brand Radar worth it if I do not use Ahrefs?

Usually not. You would be buying an SEO suite to reach an AI add-on, and standalone tools start at €20 to $99. It becomes compelling when the social surfaces matter to you or when Ahrefs is already in the stack.

Is brandradar the same as Ahrefs Brand Radar?

Yes. Ahrefs writes it as two words, Brand Radar, and buyers often type it closed up as brandradar. There is no separate product under that name and no separate price: it is sold only inside an Ahrefs subscription, so what you pay for brandradar is what you pay for the Ahrefs plan that contains it.

What is the best Ahrefs Brand Radar alternative?

For cheap multi-engine tracking, Rankscale at €20. For an incumbent SEO suite with a free AI checker, Semrush. For prompt discovery grounded in behaviour, Evertune or Profound. For Chinese engines and change-versus-control measurement, that is what we build EchoWi for.

Where this leaves you

Brand Radar is the most expensive product in this comparison once you count the plan underneath it, and it is the only one measuring the surfaces our own research found actually winning. Both of those are true at once, and which one decides your purchase depends almost entirely on whether Ahrefs is already on your invoice.

If it is, this is an incremental add-on to a tool your team already opens, with a research corpus nothing else here can match.

If it is not, look hard at the 2,500 check ceiling and the base plan you would be buying to get past it. There are tools at a tenth of the price that will tell you whether ChatGPT names you.

But do not dismiss the Reddit and YouTube coverage as a novelty. In six runs asking which GEO tool to use, the AI recommended Reddit and YouTube every time and not one funded vendor at all. The surfaces this category ignores are the ones the answers are built from.
